ITS A WRAP!

Well,well,well...


This week has went by kind of fast! I can not believe the SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE is officially over!!! YAAAAAAAAAY! Originally I was going to make a blog post but, I decided not to because I knew I was going to have a lot to say today!  This past week has been nothing but progress for me! I hope it has affected  you all the same way it did me. I would like to say I have noticed a complete 360 in:

  • ENERGY- ( which was my main experiment) - I have noticed that I have been able to function more through out a day-to-day basis! Which feels amazing!
  • APPETITE- I have noticed that by eating healthy foods, I am able to be satisfied with my consumption rather than overly STUFFED.
  • CRAVINGS- After my popcorn craving, I have been able to overcome anything, which is great. I can finally say no to UNHEALTHY things if I wanted and that's a MAJOR difference.
  • SLEEP- I have noticed that when I sleep , it is a lot better!!!
  • ATTITUDE- I have noticed that by me eating better, looking better, and doing better, I ACT better!

So many great things have resulted from this seven day challenge and I am very happy. Over the week I have lost a total of 14 1/2 lbs.  Which makes the total weight loss for this month & last month is approx. 32 lbs! Which is amazing!. I am going to keep up with eating better after this to see how my progress can continue! Was this challenge easy? HELL NO! was it worth it?! I would have to say YES! I am very pleased with everything I have experience and achieved this past week! Today I have had the following:


  • Sweet & Sour chicken over brown rice & veggies
  • 17 apple slices
  • An apple sauce cup
  • 1 bottle of water
I will not be following my diet for the holiday! ITS THANKSGIVING! LOL. I cant miss out on that! I will say that next Monday, I will be back on schedule! I will be posting a video that I think will be quite enjoyable in a few days so stay tuned for that as well as the experimental results from the SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE!!!! Until Next time.=]

Day 5: Continuous Improvement! (F.I.T)

Good Evening Viewers! 

Today has been another productivity challenged day! No worries at all though. I have noticed a COMPLETE 360 in my energy level at work! I have been working at FOREVER 21 for almost a month and a half and its is mentally and physically draining! Every time I would come home, my back would hurt, about ready to past out, feet hurting so badly, and just frazzled mentally from all the customers all day! Very hectic! the past four days at Forever 21 have been good for me! GREAT actually. I have been filled with more energy, making it through shifts with my right mind, and burning weight all at the same time! I am making it! I have not had any cravings  since the popcorn incident as well! I have been resisting temptation as my roommates and suite-mates consume what they please and I must say I am holding the fort pretty well! Today I had a morning snack since my shift started at 9 a.m, and afternoon snack at 12 p.m and dinner. My meals are as follows.


Morning Snack (8:00 a.m)


  • Nature Valley honey & oats granola bar
  • Motts Applesauce cup
  • One bottled water


Afternoon Snack (12:00 p.m)

  • Nature Valley honey & oats granola bar
  • Mandarin orange fruit cup
  • 1 bottled water

Dinner


  • Fish sandwich
  • Honey glazed chicken
  • Seasoned brown rice w/ Pinto, Lima, and Black beans
  • 7 pieces of cantaloupe
  • 1 cup of water

I have decided to do  a  questionnaire to ask individuals on campus how do they feel  staying healthy affects their energy on campus and interpreting the results of the effectiveness of the Seven Day Challenge . These results will be displayed in our LAST SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE video diary on Tuesday.  I will be posting a video diary tomorrow to wrap up what we have covered so far before concluding our journey! So stay TUNED! & Healthy! We are almost to the finish line!!

Day 4: Coping

Good Evening/ Morning Guys!


Today was the fourth day of our  "SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE ". Today has been pretty smooth for me. I had to work from 5 pm to 12 am.  I had a pretty relaxed day before I went to work, I did not do much. Today I only had breakfast and lunch with a late snack before I got off work. My food for today are as follows:



Breakfast:

  • Scrambled Eggs
  • 1 boiled egg
  • 3 baked waffles
  • 1 cup of water


Lunch: 

  • 2 chicken sandwiches
  • Side salad with lettuce, tomatoes, bell pepper, and cheese
  • 4 pieces of cantaloupe
  • 4 pieces of melon
  • 4 pieces of pineapple

Snack:

  • 2 bottles of water
  • Natures Valley granola bar
  • 1 Motts cinnamon applesauce cup
  • DOLE pineapples in 100% juice


I am also drinking a liter of water before I go to bed. I hope you all are continuing to stay healthy and away from you food temptations. I know it is very challenging, but together we can overcome anything! I apologize for not uploading video diaries! I have been working crazy shifts at Forever 21 the past few days to get ready for BLACK FRIDAY next week. I will check in with you guys tomorrow! Until then,  Stay TUNED & HEALTHY! Day 3: Cravings!!!!

Good Evening Everyone!


Today has been kind of hectic for me.  I had an linguistics exam this morning and then I had to work a five hour shift at Forever 21! Despite my complaining, today was a good day. My cold is gone! This is the first time I could remember EVER that I had a bad cold for only 1 1/2 days! I was shocked! I was full of energy today and even after my shift I was not GROGGY! I had breakfast and lunch today so here it goes:


Breakfast:


  • Eggs
  • 2 mini lemon poppy seed muffins
  • Half a waffle 
  • Mandarin oranges 
  • One cup of water

Lunch:

  • Grilled sweet and sour chicken 
  • Brown rice 2/veggies
  • 9 apple slices


Snack (At work ):


  • Bottle Water
  • 9  apple slices
  • Nature valley honey & oats granola bar



I have a liter of water to drink before bed. Currently I am hungry, and I am craving some POPCORN!!! I feel like I am going to go nuts!!!!!  I guess I will have to settle for either a lunch-able or granola and apple sauce for a late snack with my water! =/ .I will tune in with you guys tomorrow. Let's continue to conquer the SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE!!! STAY HEALTHY!!!!

Day 2: Dextox

Good Evening All!

Today was day two of our Seven Day Challenge! I hope you all feel well! Beyond me  being sick, I was well rested and not sluggish at all today!  Today I only had lunch and dinner since I had a late class at 1pm. Today was kind of hectic because I am sick and I didnt really have what I wanted for lunch. I wanted to get some more cook-to-order stirfry in my schools cafe but the cook was a COMPLETE JERK today. PMS much? Ironically after his boss apologized to me, he also said sorry. Ha! Anywho today for lunch I had :


  • 2 pieces of baked cajun cod
  • Steamed green beans
  • A bowl of whole wheat cereal
  • 1/2 scoop of casserole w/ veggies 
  • 1 cup of water
  •  3 pieces of watermelon 
  • 5 pieces of melon w/grapes


For dinner I had:


  • Steamed green beansw/mushrooms
  • 4 pieces of watermelon
  • 4 pieces of melon
  • 1 cup of water
  • A side salad w/ egg,cheese, cucumbers, and bell pepper
  • 2 whole wheat dinner rolls
  • Chicken stirfry

Today I only had three cups of  water, which is bad but, I plan on drinking 2 liters  at least before I go to bed. I will be posting my video diary around 10:30 p.m so STAY TUNED AND REMAIN HEALTHY as we conquer the SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE!!

Day 1 : The Kick-Off! (Morning)

Good morning people!

It is the official first day of our " Seven Day Challenge". Yesterday was the cleansing pre-experiment process. In simpler terms, the confession blog. I explained my weaknesses and things I love to consume on a day to day basis  and what I plan to stay away from. I posted my  very first video diary last night explaining what are the expectations for this plan as well as my food and water intake from yesterday. This morning I am tired, but I believe its from staying up until 1 a.m =) I feel refreshed and not groggy at all which is a plus! My first weigh in will be tomorrow at 11 am! So far today I have had:


  • Scrambled eggs
  • French toast (w.very light syrup)
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 full cup of water

I am full, not OVERLY STUFFED which is something I used to try to achieve. I hope you guys are feeling well and continuing to conquer the SEVEN DAY CHALLENGE with me. STAY TUNED for my second video diary coming this afternoon! STAY HEALTHY!

Cleansing! Getting F.(FUN) I.(IN) T. (TONE) with Zayna

Hello my fellow bloggers!

Welcome to the new " Seven Day Challenge". I am your moderator Zayna. I am the creator of this blog and I will be following and assisting you as we conquer the "Seven Day Challenge" together! This challenge will help  US do the following:

  • Maintain a healthy diet ( eliminating all starch, sugar (except fruit), juices, candy, and carbonated drinks)
  • Improve your energy level
  • Promote weight loss
  • Kick out all UNHEALTHY cravings
  • Make you look/feel better than before
  • Burn more calories
  • Help you lose weight without heavy exercise 

I have decided to create this challenge to actually see results of eating better, feeling better , and looking better! Unlike other diets which give you strict rules to follow and unreasonable circumstances, I will be doing this diet with you all. By me including  my personal bad eating problems/ habits, we can create a solution together! 

Seven Day Challenge Objectives:

  • Observing how to  maintain a strict diet with no starch, sugar (other than fruit), and no juices or carbonated drinks will increase energy levels, affect your personality and increase/ decrease weight loss without exercise.
  • If  changing someone’s day to day eating habits will affect them physically, emotionally, and mentally.
  • To learn if changing ones unhealthy habits to healthy ones, the energy level will increase.
  •  How  a person would react by eliminating things they love on a day-to-day basis in their diet. I also would hope to learn the positive and negative effects of the new diet.

Everyday there will be daily objectives for you to follow and video updates on my experience with the "Seven Day Challenge".  STAY TUNED AND LETS GET HEALTHY!
